Some of the Ospreys’ biggest stars will be spreading Christmas cheer amongst Swansea shoppers in the Quadrant Centre on Friday 22nd December. Justin Tipuric, Scott Baldwin, Sam Davies and Nicky Smith will be meeting supporters and giving away signed posters.
These well-established and popular players are supporter favourites and have clocked up more than 100 appearances for Wales between them. Getting involved in community events is a key part of the philosophy at Ospreys Rugby. In the last two weeks alone, Justin, Scott, Sam and Nicky have spent time with children in Morriston Hospital and Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, alongside their fellow team mates.
On Friday, last minute shoppers will find the players at a dedicated Ospreys pop-up shop outside Debenhams and next to the staircase that leads to Trenchers Café. The player signings will take place from 12-1pm with Justin and Scott and again from 1.30-2.30pm with Sam and Nicky.
There will also be a prize draw which will see one lucky shopper receive a hamper full of Ospreys merchandise and two tickets to the next home game against the Cardiff Blues on 6th January.
Justin Tipuric for Ospreys Rugby comments: “With Christmas fast approaching we thought it would be a great opportunity for us to meet our supporters and to give them a signed poster to take home. We all know that it’s one of the last shopping days before Christmas so we wanted to give something away that would be a personalised present for rugby fans in Swansea. It’s also a way of showing our gratitude for the continued support from our supporters. We hope lots of people take time out from hitting the shops to come and meet us this Friday.”
Lisa Hartley, Quadrant Shopping Centre manager, said: “We are very excited to welcome four such celebrated Ospreys’ players as Justin, Scott, Sam and Nicky. Swansea is very proud of its rugby team and the work they do in the local community, all the players are very well-known faces across the city. Their visit to Quadrant Shopping Centre is another great example of their ongoing commitment to fans and local organisations. I’m sure there will hundreds of shoppers turning up on the day to meet their heroes and will be a real Christmas treat for everyone.”
